Off to Norman...
So our 2 days/4 shows up in Oklahoma City came to a close today - and we packed up the show and drove 20 miles down the road to Norman, Oklahoma - home of the University of Oklahoma and the mighty SOONERS! (Although, truth be told, they are struggling this year on the football field - standing 1-2 so far this season!)
The shows today were fun - they were public performances and were both pretty full. The venue sat about 700 - and I would say we have 450-550 at each show. They were very appreciative and responsive. We DID have a strange/funny thing that has never happened before. At the end of the show, after we roll the grandparents bed on, and everyone does their last bow, a bunch of Golden Tickets are released from above the stage, to drift down and then we all head off stage. I was off stage left, hanging things up, and I hear TONS of kids voices CLOSE! So I turn around, and probably 30 kids had RUSHED the stage, came up on the stage and were taking HANDFULLS of the tickets! We were all like WHAT the crap? What parents are letting their kids run up on stage!? It was so WEIRD!
Tonight everyone laid pretty low in Norman. We have 2 shows tomorrow and then it's off to Eastern Oklahoma - headed to Tahlequah.
Since I wrote so much last night, I'll stop here. Enjoy the pictures - and we'll talk to you soon.
Gussy
So this is a chair that was used during our first show on Friday - and then for the next 3 shows, it was covered. EVIDENTLY, during the candy boat scene, the littler person that was sitting there got scared and wet themselves...and since they didn't have time to get it cleaned, they decided to make it a crime scene.
For those of you who know Brian Huseman, this is his 4 year old nephew, Kirk, after our show today. They live here in Oklahoma City and Brian had them come see the show! Kirk seemed to love it.
So it's true...OK really does seem to be the place where buffalo roam free...where the deer and the antelope play.
So I found SOONER STADIUM - and this it. It's a beautiful campus - had a nice walk.
