Saint Cloud - A Day To Relaxacise
So...our drive today was only about 3 hours, and so we got to Saint Cloud, checked into the hotel and began our first day on the RELAXACISE program. First there was a short walk across the street to Old Chicago for lunch...and for those of you who know me (or remember the Peoria entry), I LOVE me some Old Chicago. How lucky was THAT?
After lunch, it was all-hotel-room, all-TV-or-DVD, some-napping, all-the-time...and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Our selections for the day was a hodge-podge of wackiness...and covered a wide range of stories and fun. We started with a couple of Episodes from the UK's hit show THE OFFICE. (IS there a better episode than the MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER episode? It would be hard to find one...) Then we moved to a speed-through version of XANADU...because it came from Netflix and we wanted to be entertained by the terribleness of it all. (IS there a stranger movie that combines musical numbers, roller skating, Gene Kelly's talent AND an artist who paints album covers? Again, it would be hard to find something...) And finally, to ring in the Christmas season, we popped in MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL. (You KNOW how I feel about the Muppets.)
All of this RELAXACISE was perfect, because tomorrow, we have what probably is the single most INSANE day on tour. Day starts at the van at 7:15am. That includes checking OUT of the hotel. We go to the theater, do a show at 9am - have a little over an hour off - do a second show at 11:30am - have the afternoon off, and then come back and do a 7pm show. (Not bad, I hear you saying...have about 6 hours off in the afternoon...but remember earlier...where we check out of the hotel? RIIIIIIIIIGHT. We have rocket scientists putting this tour together at times.) AND THEN - the show ends at 8pm, they break the show down, and at about 9pm, we drive 3 hours to Detroit Lakes, MN...arriving sometime around midnight. I'd GIDDY with anticipation!
So that is the end of our low-key day.
OH! And The Color Purple opened on Broadway today. It's a new musical - I saw it in Atlanta last year - and it's a great show. So that's thrilling, too.....
Anyway...I guess I'll go to bed. I'm done relaxing.
Cheers!

To truly get into the Christmas spirit you must watch Christmas Vacation....a Sizemore family tradition!! Have a great day.

Any place called Detroit Lakes, MN is bound to be a little slice of heaven. Although there is no lake titled Detroit in Michigan, there is the lovely Detroit River and I mean lovely in the most sarcastic way possible.
Unfortunately the Walsh's don't have any Christmas movie traditions to pass on, but you HAVE to watch Elf. "Hello, Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?" And the classic, "Watch out for the yellow ones, they don't stop!" Ha ha, I love that movie. Aaaand, I'm done.
