Travel Day To Concord

Low-key travel day from Bangor, ME to Concord, NH...with not a lot to report. I spent an hour or so downtown Concord walking arouna snapping some shots of the New Hampshire State Capitol Building. Fun, right? It's a cute little building...take a look.

So...there it is. The New Hampshire Capitol Building. And, for you Jeopardy players, a little lesson.

More of the same.

Not much else going on. Tonight was a BIG TV night...because the FINALE of Project Runway was on tonight. Now, we've had some trouble in the past on tour getting to hotels, only to find out that whatever hotel we were at didn't have BravoTV and so we couldn't watch it. But you know - you get over it, knowing they will show the episode ONE MILLION times over the course of the next week. But there is just something different about a FINALE. Our most CONSISTENT hotel has been the Hampton Inns...and not just because of the delicious cookies at the front desk. They always have BravoTV. UNTIL CONCORD. I mean - WHAT? Sooooooo.....yeah. Pretty much. Didn't want the finale. I'm cool - I'll just catch it later or buy it on iTunes or something. AND THEN - I get BAM! BAM! BAM! 3 emails in a row from friends, telling me how excited they were because....of the outcome...and revealing the outcome to me! WHAT? So OFCOURSE I have to research it on line and find out it's true. And then of course I have to break it to Eric, too. Jen and Jackie are staying strong...they will watch it when they can. But as for me and my house, we are up to speed.

To round out the night, Chris, Andrew, Jill and I headed to a local restaurant called The Red Blazer - which came highly recommended by Kelly, who cut my hair at a salon in Concord called POSH. I'm posh, so it was only FITTING that I go there for a cut. Regardless, we headed to the Red Blazer tonight, and it was great. BUT - the greatest part was that we were able to add 2 CHEESECAKES to the World Cheesecake Tour! Thanks to special reporter, Andrew Frace, on stepping up to the plate and ordering the 2nd cheesecake selection. Pictures and stories to follow.

L: The Carrot Cake-Cheesecake creation. Tasty. A bit dry. Both the cake and the cheesecake. But the idea is great. Andrew gave it a 6.5 and I gave it a low 7 on the MASE. R: Blueberry Cheesecake. This was a much creamier cheesecake. Great graham crust...not TOO much blueberry. Andrew gave it an 8...and I ALSO gave it an 8.

That's it. Bed time for this traveler. Tomorrow, we start the first of a 9 show streak. Which wouldn't be TOO bad but they are 9 shows - 4 days - 3 different cities...WHIRLWIND! We'll see how it all turns out! AND - you'll be happy to know that the camera ARRIVES at the hotel tomorrow...and the price to fix it was FREE! HOORAY FOR CANON!
Have a great day!

So on the grounds of the NH State Capitol, there is a 'replica' of the Liberty Bell. Well, last time I checked, the bell was actually CRACKED...no sign of black paint anywhere near it. And yet, the NH Replica 'crack' is a paint job. Hysterical.

An antique store on Main Street in Concord. It just made me laugh.
