Ollie, Charlie, Alexander And Those Rowdy Kids In Queens

More lights of Time Square...

So we had our shows in Queens/Flushing today. Notice I said SHOWS. Plural. Well, turns out they cancelled one of them...so we really only did one of them...but in my heart, we did 2. Or atleast we sweat enough for 2 shows. This venue was 1) VERY very warm (if Jackie breaks a sweat, and she did, you KNOW it's hot); and 2) strangely laid out. Infact, the entire experience today was strange. The theater was sprawling...all one level...and they filled it with about 1,000 students. They were very EXCITEABLE children - and we found out quick and early on that they had a strange affinity towards CLAPPING. And they found the rhythm/beat in most every song...even the ballads. But here is the strangest part....they clapped RIGHT up to where we normally WANT them to clap (when Charlie finds the Golden ticket) and then they stopped. Um...who ARE these kids? And the boat scene, when the lights go out, and we all scream, and normally there is a scream from the group was out of control, too. The lights go out and the screams from the audience were GLASS SHATTERING! And they kept screaming - and screaming - and screaming...it was a trip!
After we all survived our one show-day of craziness, some of us headed into the city to meet up with Patrick and Jordan from the Kennedy Center's OTHER tour, Alexander Who's Not, Not, Not, Not Going To Move. They flew in last night for some auditions today here in the city, and they flew back out this evening...but they had a few free hours. So Eric, Jill, Chris and I headed into the city and met them at Ollie's for some delicious Chinese food...which also fulfills mine and Jill's promise to eat Chinese food ATLEAST once a week! But it was good to see Patrick and Jordan and catch up with them and the happenings of their tour. They had good auditions - and were OFF tonight to catch a plane back to Kansas...and then a drive tomorrow to Nebraska. (Can someone say 'SHORT END' of the tour stick?) After lunch, we did some shopping at Toys-R-Us and at the Virgin Megastore before everyone had to head out on their individual ways. (PS - Virgin has some couches on the basement level that are VERY comfortable...just if anyone was wondering.)

Well WHAT a surprise! Alexander and Charlie run across each other RIGHT in Time Square! Who KNEW!?

After saying our goodbyes, Jill, Chris and I headed to a movie theater to see GLORY ROAD...and i loved it. But for those who know me, are you surprised? It was entertaining, inspiring, and just a good, clean movie. On the MASE - a SOLID, high 8.

And then for Jill and I, that was the day. We headed back out to Hotel Sketch and each did our own things...which mine included watching MORE brutal American Idol auditions and being suprisingly entertained by Skating with Celebrities. Bruce Jenner? Who KNEW! He's going to be throwing Triple Axels before we KNOW it!
So that's it...

L: So here are Alexander (Jordan) and Charlie (Eric) emracing in Time Square. R: And here are some of the boys from BOTH Kennedy Center 2005-2006 Tours.

And here is Patrick with the umbrella he was OBSESSED with all day...

L: Matt and Patrick take some time to catch up while in Time Square. (Notice umbrella....) R: Patrick and Jordan take some time to give Jill a New York HELLO!

And Patrick CONTINUES to play with the umbrella....

Jill takes a time -out to rock with the Naked Cowboy in Time Square. (I guess NAKED Cowboy sounded a lot more sexy than 'White Underpants Cowboy'. And for her $1 donation, he offered a picture of BOTH sides....)

Wait. We lost Patrick. Oh no - he is STILL playing with the umbrella....

Just some fun in Toys-R-Us. I missed the chance to show you Patrick KNOCKING OVER a display...PROBABLY with the umbrella.

And finally...I wanted to show the couches at Virgin Records...and Patrick wanted to show...his UMBRELLA...
