Wonka Cast Dines With GINGER SIZEMORE
The Sizemore Clan
So....our Wednesday was jam-packed, which I guess is why I was so TIRED last night and couldn't pull something together for you all. I hope, by this time, you have all sufficiently dealt with it.
So our 2 shows yesterday were school shows - and they both went well. We did have another BUBBLE SPILL on stage....with Jackie taking one for the team. Not just ONCE. Try TWICE. It was all so SUDDEN....she was up...she was down...she was back up....AAAAAAAAND she was back down. Curses, bubbles! You win again! (Incidentally, we cut them for the rest of the shows here in Huntington!)
The rest of our day was ours to do whatever we wanted....and I wanted to eat lunch, sit in the sun and read. Which, incidentally, I have to take a time-out and tell you about the book I just finished. It is called 'The Shadow of the Wind' by Carlos Ruiz Zafon...and it was STELLAR! It's a mystery - it's a romance - it's a thriller - it's amazing. Read more about it by clicking HERE. SO good.
Anyway - game on! So Wednesday night, we were all invited up to the Sizemore Homestead for an early Easter dinner! And Mom Sizemore did NOT disappoint! I am putting it out there right now - it was a 10+ on the MASE! It was ham, homemade mac & cheese, potato salad, brocolli casserole, baked beans, beer bread, rolls, deviled eggs, heath bar cake and no-bake cheesecake. OFF THE CHARTS, people. Take a look at the pics and BE VERY JEALOUS! It was so nice to hang out with Chris' parents and his sister, Ginger and her fiancee, Brad. I think I speak for everyone when I say that it felt like we were home - from the good food to the crowd of everyone sitting in the basement, yelling at the guy on Deal or No Deal! We really appreciate the Sizemore's opening their home to us! (And the title of THIS entry is dedicated to Ginger - who has lived with her brother, Chris, popping up in the paper here in Huntington everytime she turns around! You deserve your own headline time! READERS: Don't forget to wish Ginger good luck on her wedding - October 21, 2006! It's going to be QUITE the affair!)
Take it all in, people. THE SPREAD! Mmmmmmmmmmm.......
Commercial breaks during Deal or No Deal.
HAHAHAHAHA! CHRIS HAD HAIR! HAHAHAHAHA!
A happy, content, full bunch of Wonkerers!
Chris antagonizes Gizmo with a cookie. Only moments before, he was antagonizing Jackie with one of them. And she was barking louder than the dog. But she can't jump as high as the dog.
All this PLUS Easter baskets for each of us? THANKS SIZEMORE'S! (P.S. For a good laugh, check out Jill in the background of the first picture....)
Everyone before we headed back to the hotel.
After the Sizemore's kicked us out for being rowdy and provoking their dog, we all headed back to the Radisson to wind down for the night. A group of us headed around the corner to watch them film a scene from the movie they are filming here (which we spoke about a couple of entries ago. Keep up.) If you were wondering: NO - we didn't see Matthew or Matthew...they are in Atlanta filming some football scenes. But....Andrew and I waited around and we DID see Extra #15 and Extra #36 running down the street in some AWESOME 70's garb and turning to watch the police and fire engines rush down the street. AND we saw one of the police cars break down on one of the rehearsal runs. So you know....we were in the thick of it!
Some of the group watching them set up...the set...
They just sprayed the street down (it was supposed to be after a rainstorm) and are getting the period cars set up on the road.
Andrew and Elisa watch the action from our amazingly CLOSE secret spot!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand........ACTION!
Tune in tomorrow for a report on our lunch at HILLYBILLY HOT DOGS here in Huntington - and our public show and reception afterwards tonight! The fun never stops...it just keeps moving cities!
Ciao!

Things 'on the set' during the day, as they were setting up for the night shots. There was a constant stream of locals, hanging out and waiting.
Jill and Jackie kickin' it 'on the set' after our show. We performed at the Keith Albee Theater, which is behind the girls...set up and advertising a 70's movie for the shot. PRETTY sure the locals thought we were movie-peeps. And why not.....

We really enjoyed having all of you in our home last evening. What a wonderful group of people! It felt like one big family. I'm glad we were able to add a little touch of "home" to your tour. We are looking forward to seeing the show again tonight. If you are ever in this area again you are always welcome to come to our home.

PS.....I loved the headline!!!!
Well, I am glad someone finally gave me my due! But seriously, we really enjoyed meeting all of you and we had a great time. I'm glad I was introduced to "Deal or No Deal"...I'm going to be hooked. The show was great last night...you all did a wonderful job. Have a great time on the rest of your tour and exploring the rest of the east. Keep my bald baby brother safe and out of trouble!
